Starting my arts education, I began my first steady applied artwork in 2009 at Northeastern Technology Center's Animation program alongside my junior high school year. I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop and Flash, which I quickly picked up and used to consistently submit design ideas for Chibipaws. A year later I was accepted as a simple item artist to the Chibipaws team, and I produced a steady flow of item and pet art during my time.
Alongside my work at Chibipaws, I picked up an animation job for Kogo.me, where I designed 2D flash battle animations much like those seen in Pokemon games. With this new animated path, I explored new possibilities for myself in flash, and tested what I could produce with the program and size limitations.
I eventually graduated Miami High School and continued pursuing Illustration at Oklahoma State University. Eventually Kogo's pace fell and the project ended, so I invested more time into my courses. However, after I passed the review portion of the Graphic Design program, Illustration was removed as a field of study. With little other options, I instead changed my focus to Motion Design for the remaining two years of college. With the help of a particularly great professor, I was often allowed to incorporate more illustrative elements into my Graphic Design work to fill a little of my art curiosities.
I completed my Bachelors in Arts and Sciences | Graphic Design with Honors on May 9th of 2015.
Soon after, I found that my Grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Since my family is rather small, I found it my job to pitch in and instead pick up Freelancing as a fulltime job, where I could be handy to keep him company and be near in case of emergencies.
Due to my situation, I have yet to pursue an in-house character design job as is my dream. Since the passing of the last two years, the Alzheimer's situation has become more manageable, so I've set aside the jobs of my past and am now trying my best to improve on the skills that will be needed for the job I dearly want.
